> **The quick answer**
>
> **Best AstroSage alternatives in 2026:** for a reasoned answer about career or timing from your own chart, use **Supastro**, which computes the chart first and, for big decisions, has five AI agents argue over it before you see an answer. For the deepest free calculations, use **Jagannatha Hora** (Windows only). For a clean, free kundali with D1 to D60 charts, use **Drik Panchang**. For low-cost written reports, use **Prokerala**. To talk to a human astrologer, use **AstroYogi**.

_Disclosure: Supastro publishes this article and makes one of the apps on this list. Every competitor figure below comes from the company's own page, store listing or a named publication, last checked on 15 October 2026. Sources are listed at the end._

AstroSage is the default kundli app in India for a reason. It says it has served users **since 2004**, its Play Store listing claims **12 million monthly users and 8.5 crore downloads**, and its free kundli already covers all 16 divisional charts, Vimshottari dasha to five levels, Yogini dasha, Jaimini Char dasha and the KP system. Very few apps match that on raw calculation.

So why do people search for an alternative? Three reasons come up again and again. Two media roundups ([The Quint](https://www.thequint.com/brandstudio/top-best-astrology-apps-india-2026) and [The Week](https://www.theweek.in/konnect/leisure/2026/10/08/best-astrology-apps-in-india.html)) describe the interface as dense for beginners, and The Quint notes ads on the free tier. Much of the app now funnels into paid chat and call sessions, priced from **₹15 to ₹100 a minute** for human astrologers and **₹11 to ₹35 a minute** for its AI astrologer personas. And a free kundli gives you hundreds of numbers, but not an answer to the question you actually have: _what does this mean for my career next year?_

This guide compares eight alternatives on exactly those points: how deep the calculation goes, who interprets it, what a career or timing answer costs, and where each one falls short.

## How we compared these AstroSage alternatives

We judged every app on six things a serious kundli user cares about:

1. **Calculation depth.** Which divisional charts (vargas) and which dasha systems it computes. D10 matters for career, D9 for marriage, and the dasha system decides your timing.
2. **Who interprets the chart.** A fixed report template, a human astrologer paid by the minute, desktop software you read yourself, or an AI.
3. **Career and timing answers.** Whether it can say something specific about your 10th house, D10 chart and current dasha, not a generic sun-sign line.
4. **Honest pricing.** The real price of a useful answer, including per-minute rates and GST.
5. **Platform and language.** Web, Android, iPhone, Windows, and which languages it supports.
6. **Trust signals.** Public store ratings and the number of ratings behind them.

## 1. Supastro: best for reasoned career and dasha answers

Supastro is an AI Vedic astrology app built in Bengaluru by Quantum Karma. It does not let a language model guess at your chart. It computes the chart first from NASA JPL ephemeris data on the Lahiri ayanamsa: the 16 Shodashvarga charts plus higher vargas, Shadbala across six sources, the full 337-point Ashtakavarga, Vimshottari dasha to four levels, Yogini dasha and a simplified Jaimini Chara dasha. Those computed values are then handed to the AI as fixed facts.

The part no other app on this list does is the **Council**. For a big question, three specialist agents read the same chart from different angles: a Dasha Timer for timing, a Chart Analyst for houses and divisional strength, and a Karma Reader for Jaimini karakas. An independent **Verifier** challenges their claims against each other and against the life events you have confirmed. A **Chief** then writes one plan and must keep any disagreement visible, at lower confidence, instead of hiding it.

**Supastro**

**Strengths**

- Computes before it writes: the AI is handed the values as fixed facts and checked against them
- Five-agent Council with an independent Verifier for big decisions
- Vimshottari to four levels and full Yogini dasha
- Checks your birth time against a past event before big timing calls
- 39 free tools, free tier with 5 starter credits, no card

**Limitations**

- Lahiri ayanamsa only; no Raman or KP ayanamsa
- Jaimini Chara dasha is simplified and not used in chat answers
- No KP system
- English interface only
- No live human astrologers
- Web app only, no Play Store or App Store listing

> **Best for**
>
> You want a specific, checkable answer to "what does my D10 and current dasha say about a job change?" without paying per minute.

## 2. Jagannatha Hora: best for the deepest free calculations

Jagannatha Hora, by P.V.R. Narasimha Rao, is the software many professional astrologers learned on, and it is still free. Its features page lists twenty-three divisional charts up to D-144, custom vargas to D-300, KP sub-lords to five levels, Tajaka annual charts and, by our count, about 39 dasha systems. Nothing on this list beats it on breadth.

The catch: the last version (8.0) is dated January 2016, it runs on Windows only, and it gives you numbers, not interpretation. You need to know Jyotish to use it.

**Jagannatha Hora**

**Strengths**

- Free, with no ads or upsells
- About 39 dasha systems, including Kalachakra and Narayana
- Custom divisional charts up to D-300
- Respected by professional astrologers

**Limitations**

- Windows only; no Mac, Linux or phone
- Last updated 2016
- No interpretation; you read the chart yourself

## 3. Drik Panchang: best clean, free kundali

Drik Panchang is best known for its panchang, but its free kundali is excellent: 21 chart views from D1 to D60, including D10, in English and Hindi. It only shows Vimshottari dasha, with no Yogini, Char or KP. The app is rated 4.6 on Google Play from 212,088 ratings and works offline.

**Drik Panchang**

**Strengths**

- Free D1 to D60 charts, clearly drawn
- Highly rated, offline-capable app
- Trusted panchang for festivals and muhurat

**Limitations**

- Vimshottari dasha only
- No interpretation or consultations
- Ads unless you pay to remove them

## 4. Prokerala: best for cheap written reports

Prokerala has run free astrology calculators since 2005: a 16-chart varga calculator, Vimshottari and KP dasha pages, in five Indian languages. Its paid reports are among the cheapest we found: a **Career Report for ₹699** and a Full Horoscope for ₹1,000, both before 18% GST. There is no official app linked from the site.

**Prokerala**

**Strengths**

- 16 divisional charts free on the web
- KP charts and KP dasha included
- Career report at ₹699 + GST

**Limitations**

- Reports are templates, not answers to your question
- No official mobile app
- No AI or consultations

## 5. Clickastro: best for long printed horoscopes

Clickastro is run by Astro-Vision Futuretech, which says it was founded in **1984** and that over 90% of kundlis on matrimony sites are powered by it. Its strength is long, automated reports: an **In-Depth Horoscope** of 300 pages covering 25 years for ₹1,200 plus GST, and a **Career & Business Horoscope** for ₹1,499. Navamsa and Dasamsa charts appear in the paid reports rather than the free tools. On Trustpilot (30 reviews), reviewers report generic, computer-generated text and upselling.

**Clickastro**

**Strengths**

- Decades of calculation history
- Very long reports in 9 or more languages
- Sookshma and prana dasha predictions

**Limitations**

- Divisional charts mostly inside paid reports
- Report text is templated
- No AI features

## 6. AstroYogi: best for talking to a human astrologer

AstroYogi (Netway India, since 2001) is a consultation marketplace. It says it has served 4 crore customers with over 5,000 professionals in 11 or more languages. Rates we saw ranged from **₹12 to ₹116 a minute**, and the first chat is free. Its "AI" is mainly smart routing to an astrologer, plus quick AI insight reports in the app. It is rated 4.7 on Google Play from 167,810 ratings.

A human reading can be excellent. The trade-off is consistency: two astrologers can read the same chart differently, and the meter is running while they do.

**AstroYogi**

**Strengths**

- Large pool of human astrologers
- Highly rated app, first chat free
- Many Indian languages

**Limitations**

- Per-minute pricing adds up on long questions
- Quality depends on the astrologer you get
- Free kundli does not name its dasha systems

## 7. Melooha: best for simple AI questions on mobile

Melooha (Astroverse Technologies, founded 2022) is an AI astrology app that answers questions about your chart through "Ask Vaani". Its sample questions mention D10 and mahadasha, and it sells career, health and marriage reports. In-app packs range from ₹50 to ₹999. It is rated 4.5 on Google Play from 10,283 ratings. It does not say which dasha systems it computes.

## 8. KundliGPT: best for multilingual AI chat

KundliGPT is an AI chat built by Codelab7. It supports 15 languages, Vedic and Western charts, D1 to D60 and KP tools. It runs on coins: 30 free coins at signup (about three questions), 10 coins per question, and full reports from 151 coins. The site does not show the rupee price of a coin, and the Android app has very few ratings so far.

## Which AstroSage alternative is best for career predictions?

For career, the chart that matters most is the **D10 (Dashamsha)**, read together with the 10th house, its lord, and the strength (Shadbala) of the planets involved, then timed by your current mahadasha and antardasha. Any app can draw a D10. The difference is whether it connects these layers to your actual question.

- **Supastro** computes D10, Shadbala and four-level Vimshottari dasha, then answers your specific career question with the evidence shown. The Council is built for big decisions like a job change.
- **Prokerala** (₹699 + GST) and **Clickastro** (₹1,499) sell fixed career reports. They are good for a broad overview, not a specific decision.
- **AstroSage** sells a Career/Job Report for ₹1,560; its product page does not mention D10.
- **AstroYogi** gives you a human reading, priced by the minute.

## Which AstroSage alternative is best for dasha and transit timing?

Timing is where calculation depth really counts. If you follow several dasha systems, **Jagannatha Hora** is unmatched, with about 39. AstroSage computes all three of the systems most astrologers use: Vimshottari, Yogini and Jaimini Chara. **Supastro** computes Vimshottari to four levels and Yogini in full, and uses them in timing features such as the 30-day Destiny Window; its Jaimini Chara dasha is a simplified version that its chat does not use for predictions. **Drik Panchang** and Prokerala stick mostly to Vimshottari.

## How can you tell if any kundli app is accurate?

No app can prove a prediction in advance, but you can check whether its _calculations_ are right in ten minutes. Do this before you pay anyone:

1. **Check the ayanamsa.** Most Indian astrologers use Lahiri. If two apps disagree by about one degree on every planet, they are using different ayanamsas, not making errors.
2. **Cross-check your ascendant degree.** Enter the same birth data in Jagannatha Hora or Drik Panchang. Your Lagna degree should match to within a few arc-minutes.
3. **Confirm your birth time.** The ascendant moves about one degree every four minutes. A 15-minute error can change your D9 and D10 completely. See [how precise your birth time needs to be](https://supastro.com/blog/birth-time-accuracy-vedic-astrology).
4. **Test the dasha dates against your past.** Look at when your last mahadasha changed. Did a big life shift happen then? This is the basis of [birth time rectification](https://supastro.com/birth-time-rectification).
5. **Ask for the evidence.** A good reading names the house, lord, divisional chart and dasha behind each claim. If it cannot, it is guessing.

> **The rule of thumb**
>
> An app that computes correctly and explains its evidence is more useful than one with a hundred features you cannot verify. Accuracy starts with the birth time you give it.

## Frequently asked questions

### What is the best free alternative to AstroSage?

For free calculations, Jagannatha Hora is the deepest (Windows only) and Drik Panchang is the cleanest on any device. For free answers to questions, Supastro has a free tier with 39 free tools and 5 starter credits, no card required.

### Is there an AstroSage alternative that uses AI?

Yes. Supastro, Melooha and KundliGPT all use AI, and AstroSage itself now offers AI astrologer chat at ₹11 to ₹35 a minute. Supastro is the only one we found where several AI agents debate the computed chart and an independent verifier checks the claims before you see an answer.

### Which app is more accurate than AstroSage?

On calculation, AstroSage is already accurate; most serious apps use the same astronomy. Differences come from the ayanamsa setting, your birth time and how the chart is interpreted. An app is more useful than AstroSage when it explains its evidence for your specific question, not when it shows more numbers.

### Does Supastro support KP astrology?

No. Supastro is built on the Parashari and Jaimini systems with the Lahiri ayanamsa. If you follow KP, use Jagannatha Hora, Prokerala or AstroSage.

### Can I talk to a human astrologer on Supastro?

Not live. Supastro is an AI product. Its one-time Life Map report is prepared by hand by a senior Vedic astrologer. For live chat or calls, AstroYogi, Astrotalk and AstroSage Varta are marketplaces of human astrologers.

### Which AstroSage alternative works on iPhone?

Drik Panchang, Clickastro, AstroYogi and Melooha have iPhone apps. Supastro runs in the iPhone browser and can be added to your home screen as an app. Jagannatha Hora does not run on iPhone or Mac.
