Best Free Manglik Dosha Calculators in 2026: 12 Checkers Compared on Houses, Moon, Venus and Cancellations
Am I Manglik? 12 free Mangal dosha checkers compared on the houses they count, whether they count from the Moon and Venus, which cancellations they apply, what they ask for and what they try to sell you.

Disclosure: Supastro publishes this guide and makes one of the checkers listed. Competitor facts come from each company's own pages; I did not sign up, submit forms or pay. Figures last checked on 2 November 2026. Nobody paid to be listed; no star ratings from us.
You are Manglik (Mangal or Kuja Dosha) when Mars sits in certain houses of your birth chart. Houses are the chart's twelve slices; the 1st is your ascendant (Lagna), the sign rising at your birth. Every checker agrees on the 4th, 7th, 8th and 12th. They split on the 1st versus the 2nd, on counting again from your Moon and Venus, and on cancellations (rules that switch the dosha off). More in our Mangal Dosha guide.
How we compared these checkers
- Houses: which ones, and whether it admits the 1st versus 2nd dispute.
- Reference points: ascendant only, or Moon and Venus too, and which triggered your result.
- Cancellations: named or not, and verse kept apart from custom and folklore.
- Inputs: exact birth time, account, email or phone.
- The fix it sells: paid pujas, red coral or products. Supastro sells no gemstones and no paid pujas.

1. Supastro: best verdict by the verse
The full verdict comes only from Mars in the 1st, 4th, 7th, 8th or 12th from your ascendant, Parashara's houses; the 2nd house or a Moon count shows as "Manglik by later convention only", and Venus is a side note. Each cancellation is marked verse or custom. A partner mode checks both charts, and a second, independent calculation cross-checks Mars's house.
Where others beat us: Astrotalk accepts an unknown birth time, Clickastro speaks 11 languages, AstroSage offers six ayanamsas, and KundliGPT counts Venus if your family does. Our written explanation also has a daily cap; the computed verdict always shows.
2. KundliGPT: best three-point count
It counts from ascendant, Moon and Venus, says which triggered the result, flags 2nd-house-only results, names its cancellations and rejects the age 28 belief. Nothing is stored, its page says, and there is no sign-up. The catch: any one of three points flags you: 88% of people in my test. Its Jataka Parijata source for the 2nd house is not in our edition.
3. Drik Panchang: cleanest big site
A plain form with an ayanamsa choice (Lahiri, Raman, Krishnamurti or none). It notes that North Indian astrologers skip the 2nd house and South Indian ones the 1st, then counts both, from ascendant, Moon and Venus. The catch: unnamed cancellation rules, and a table scoring the dosha up to 250%, with "End of Marriage life within 8 years".
4. AstroSage: best for settings
Six ayanamsa options, KP and Sayan included, and two chart styles. It counts the 1st, 4th, 7th, 8th and 12th from the ascendant, the 2nd for South Indian practice, grading high or low by how many of three charts show it. The catch: two named cancellations, the age 28 belief, and a 3-carat red coral for sale on the same page.
5. Astrotalk: best without a birth time
The only form here with an "I don't know my time of birth" box; the page never says how it judges you without one. It grades six houses from three points as poorna, double or anshik. The catch: "take corrective action before it's too late", "personalised Mangal Puja solutions" from its astrologers, and gemstones in the footer.
6 to 12: the rest
- Prokerala: its calculator page drops the 1st house and warns of a partner's death.
- InstaAstro: three charts, but counts turning 28 as a cancellation and sells pujas and gemstones.
- Clickastro: 11 languages, but wants email and phone and names no reference points or cancellations.
- AstroYogi: says four houses, then describes six; links bracelets and pendants as remedies.
- GaneshaSpeaks: a rare Navamsa (D9) cancellation, behind a login, beside paid reports.
- AskSoma: a clear worked example, no form, and a 40% to 50% figure; its own rule flags 88% in our test.
- Jagannatha Hora: the free Windows program (version 8.0, 2016) for counting yourself; see the best free kundli apps.
Not ranked: MyPandit (calculator page not found) and Vedic Rishi (no form we could read).
Which houses make you Manglik, and counted from where?
The rule is Parashara's: Mars in the 12th, 4th, 7th or 8th "from Lagn, without aspect by, or association with any benefic" (BPHS 80.47). The Sanskrit opens lagne vyaye sukhe, five places; lagne means in the 1st house itself, which both English editions lose by writing "from the Lagna". Brihat Jataka (24.8) and Phaladeepika (11.3) back the 7th. No text in our library gives the 2nd house or a Venus count; the nearest to a Moon count is several malefics in the 7th from the Moon (Brihat Jataka 24.9). Supastro follows the Sanskrit.
I ran our chart engine over 20,000 random birth moments (1980 to 2005, New Delhi). Six houses from the ascendant flag 50%. Add the Moon: 75%. Add Venus: 88%. The verse's five houses flag 41%; its benefic condition leaves 22%.
Which Manglik cancellations come from the texts?
Two. A benefic joining or aspecting Mars voids it (BPHS 80.47): Jupiter, Venus, a waxing Moon, or Mercury when no malefic joins it (BPHS 3.11). And when both partners have it, "the Yog ceases to have any effect" (BPHS 80.48 to 49). The rest is later custom: own or exalted sign, Leo or Aquarius, sign-specific houses, a Tuesday birth, turning 28. Supastro lets custom cancel a custom-only Manglik but only soften a verse one to Mild. How the fear gets sold is in The Manglik Wedding Ransom.
How do you check if a Manglik result is right?
- Birth time. The ascendant changes sign about every two hours, moving Mars's house with it. If the time is a guess, rectify it.
- Which point triggered it. No verse in our library counts from Venus.
- Which house. The 1st is in the Sanskrit; the 2nd is later.
- A benefic on Mars. Jupiter, Venus or a clean Mercury joining or aspecting Mars voids it.
- Both charts. Manglik is a matching question: run both through Kundli Matching.
Frequently asked questions
Am I Manglik if Mars is in my 2nd house?
By common custom, yes. By Parashara's verse, no: BPHS 80.47 names the 1st, 4th, 7th, 8th and 12th. Supastro says "Manglik by later convention only".
Can I check Manglik without my birth time?
Not reliably: no time, no ascendant, and the verse counts from the ascendant. A Moon-based check often needs only the date, but it is the later method.
Does Manglik dosha end at 28?
No verse in our library says so. KundliGPT's page says the belief has no classical basis; AstroSage, InstaAstro and AskSoma repeat it.
Do two Mangliks cancel each other?
Yes: the yoga then "ceases to have any effect" (BPHS 80.48 to 49). A partner Manglik only by custom does not cancel a verse Manglik. See our kundli matching guide.
Do I need a puja or red coral to fix Manglik?
No verse asks for either, and Supastro sells neither. A result page that sells the fix is a sales page.
Which free Manglik calculator is most accurate?
The astronomy matches; the rules differ. Pick one that names its houses, reference points and cancellations, as Supastro and KundliGPT do. Matching apps: the best kundli matching apps.
