Pushya Nakshatra 2027: All 13 Dates, Guru Pushya and Ravi Pushya
Every Pushya Nakshatra period from November 2026 to December 2027 with start and end times for New Delhi, the five Guru Pushya and three Ravi Pushya days, and which of them leave a clean hour to sign or buy.

Pushya Nakshatra 2027 comes 13 times. Five of those touch a Thursday, so 2027 has five Guru Pushya days: 18 February, 18 March, 15 April, 18 November and 16 December. Three touch a Sunday, so Ravi Pushya falls on 1 August, 29 August and 26 September. Every time below is for New Delhi, computed by Supastro on the Lahiri zodiac, the sidereal zodiac of Indian almanacs, and checked against Drik Panchang's New Delhi list on 5 November 2026.
When is Pushya Nakshatra in 2027?
Pushya is the eighth of the 27 nakshatras, the star segments the Moon passes through each month. Each segment is 13°20' of the sidereal zodiac, so Pushya runs from 93°20' to 106°40', wholly inside Karka (Cancer). The notes to Uttara Kalamrita count 800 minutes of arc for each star and end Pushya at 16°40' of the sign (Uttara Kalamrita, chapter 6).
Start and end times are single instants, so they read the same across India; sunrise, which decides the weekday, moves with your city. The last column is the window Supastro's Muhurat Finder leaves for signing or buying, explained below.

Which days are Guru Pushya and Ravi Pushya in 2027?
Guru Pushya is Pushya on a Thursday, Jupiter's day; Ravi Pushya is Pushya on a Sunday, the Sun's day. The real question is where a Thursday begins. I take the rule from Supastro's own code: its Muhurat Calendar judges every weekday as the Vedic day, from one sunrise to the next, and accepts a star for whatever part of that day it runs. So a Thursday is Guru Pushya if Pushya runs at any minute between Thursday's sunrise and Friday's sunrise.
So 18 November 2027 is a Guru Pushya even though Pushya begins at 1:52 am on Friday 19 November by the clock: Friday starts only at its sunrise, 6:46 am. Almanacs that print it under 19 November mean the same window.
If your family almanac demands Pushya at sunrise, 2027 keeps only two Guru Pushya days, 18 March and 15 April, and one Ravi Pushya, 26 September.
| Day | Pushya window (IST) | Pushya at sunrise? | What the Muhurat Finder leaves to sign or buy |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ravi Pushya, Sun 29 Nov 2026 | 6:55 to 11:00 am | Yes | 9:32 to 10:51 am (Labh) |
| Guru Pushya, Thu 18 Feb 2027 | 9:06 pm to 6:56 am Fri | No | Nothing: night only |
| Guru Pushya, Thu 18 Mar 2027 | 6:28 am to 3:21 am Fri | Yes | Nothing: every good slot is cut |
| Guru Pushya, Thu 15 Apr 2027 | 5:56 to 9:33 am | Yes | Nothing: Navami, a Rikta day |
| Ravi Pushya, Sun 1 Aug 2027 | 8:05 pm to 5:43 am Mon | No | Nothing: night only, on Amavasya |
| Ravi Pushya, Sun 29 Aug 2027 | 6:17 am to 3:45 am Mon | No, it starts 20 minutes after | 9:10 to 10:46 am (Labh), 10:46 am to 12:22 pm (Amrit) |
| Ravi Pushya, Sun 26 Sep 2027 | 6:11 am to 12:38 pm | Yes | 9:12 to 10:42 am (Labh), 10:42 am to 12:12 pm (Amrit) |
| Guru Pushya, Thu 18 Nov 2027 | 1:52 to 6:46 am, Fri 19 Nov by the clock | No | Nothing: before sunrise |
| Guru Pushya, Thu 16 Dec 2027 | 9:13 am to 7:07 am Fri | No | Nothing: Bhadra, then Chaturthi, a Rikta day |
Is every Guru Pushya day actually good?
No. The star is one of the five limbs of the day; the other four still have to be clean. The finder first cuts Rahu Kaal, Yamaganda and Gulika (three fixed eighths of daylight that change by weekday), Dur Muhurtam (bad muhurtas, each a fifteenth of the day or night), Varjyam (a stretch inside each star 'to be rejected for any good activity', in the notes to Uttara Kalamrita, chapter 8), Bhadra (the Vishti karana, a half lunar day) and the Rikta lunar days, the 4th, 9th and 14th. For signing or buying it then wants a Labh or Amrit Choghadiya, two of the eight equal slices of daylight.
Thursday is built against Guru Pushya. On every Thursday, Rahu Kaal lands exactly on the Amrit slot and Yamaganda on the first Shubh slot. On 18 March, Varjyam takes Labh and Bhadra starts at 3:07 pm. On 15 April the whole window is Navami, the 9th lunar day. On 16 December Bhadra runs to 1:22 pm and Chaturthi, the 4th, takes the rest. 18 February and 18 November are night windows, and the finder keeps these acts to daylight.

Sunday runs the other way. Its Rahu Kaal falls on the last slot of the day, so the weekday's own bad hours never touch Sunday's Labh and Amrit, roughly 9 am to noon. That is why 29 August and 26 September come through and 1 August does not: it is a night window on Amavasya, the new Moon, which the finder also cuts.
What is Pushya Nakshatra good for?
Pushya is a swift star. Prasna Marga puts it with Ashwini and Hasta among the kshipra (swift) stars (Prasna Marga, chapter 24, notes to stanza 153), and Uttara Kalamrita calls the same three the stars 'that have a quick motion' (Uttara Kalamrita, chapter 8).
| What you are planning | What my library says about Pushya | What Supastro's Muhurat Finder does |
|---|---|---|
| Starting study or a course | One reading of Prasna Marga's notes names Pushya among the swift stars for beginning the study of astrology (Prasna Marga, stanza 25) | Rates it ideal for Start studies |
| Signing a deal, buying property, a planned purchase | No verse ties money or gold to Pushya | Rates it ideal for Sign a deal and Buy a home or property |
| Launching a business | Not named | Rates it ideal |
| Job start or interview | Not named | Rates it ideal, as a swift star |
| Buying a vehicle | Not named | One of the Muhurat Calendar's 12 vehicle stars |
| Travel | Good in every direction per Brihaspati and Varaha Mihira, yet stanzas 137 and 139 bar travel west on Pushya (Prasna Marga, chapter 24) | Rates it good, as a swift star |
| Marriage preparations and invitations | Allowed: Uttara Kalamrita lists Pushya for starting the preparations and for writing the invitations (chapter 8) | No separate setting |
| The wedding itself | Not named | Cuts it: Pushya is barred for the ceremony |
Gold, since everyone asks: no verse in my library ties gold to Pushya. The custom is real; the citation is not. The finder has no gold setting, so use Sign a deal or Buy a home or property, which rate Pushya ideal.
Supastro's marriage calendar leaves Pushya out of its eleven marriage stars, following Muhurta Chintamani as its code cites; that book is not in my library. For a vehicle, the vehicle purchase muhurat 2027 list in the Muhurat Calendar already carries the Pushya hours that pass. It drops Ravi Pushya on 26 September because that day falls in Pitru Paksha, the fortnight kept for ancestors.
Does Pushya suit your birth star and Moon sign?
A muhurat for a person needs that person's chart. Tara Bala counts from your birth star, the nakshatra your Moon sat in at birth, to the day's star. Prasna Marga calls the 3rd, 5th and 7th Vipat, Pratyak and Naidhana, and inauspicious (Prasna Marga, notes to stanzas 16 to 20). The finder counts in repeating cycles of nine, so the 12th, 14th, 16th, 21st, 23rd and 25th fall the same way, and it removes those windows. Chandra Bala asks where the day's Moon sits from your birth Moon. Phaladeepika makes the 1st, 3rd, 6th, 7th, 10th and 11th good (Phaladeepika 26.2); the finder removes the 4th, 8th and 12th. Pushya's Moon is always in Karka, so your answer never changes. Find your birth star with the nakshatra finder.

| Bharani, Purva Phalguni, Purva Ashadha | Naidhana Tara (7th) | Removes every Pushya window |

The finder looks 30 days ahead, so run it in the month before your date. Outside New Delhi, read the day's Rahu Kaal, Varjyam and Bhadra on the panchang for your city. Fasts and festivals are in the Hindu Calendar 2027; every star is on the 27 nakshatras page.
Frequently asked questions
How many Pushya Nakshatra days are there in 2027?
Thirteen periods, from 22 January to 16 December, each 21 to 23 hours long. Every one crosses midnight, so they touch 26 calendar dates.
When is the next Pushya Nakshatra in 2026?
From 12:50 pm on Saturday 28 November to 11:00 am on Sunday 29 November 2026, which makes Sunday morning a Ravi Pushya. The last of 2026 runs from 10:50 pm on Friday 25 December to 8:13 pm on Saturday 26 December.
Is the November 2027 Guru Pushya on the 18th or the 19th?
Same window, 1:52 to 6:46 am on 19 November. By the Vedic day it is still Thursday the 18th, so it is Guru Pushya, but it ends at dawn: useless for a daytime act.
Why do other panchangs show times a minute earlier?
I checked all 16 periods against Drik Panchang's New Delhi page on 5 November 2026: of 32 start and end times, 14 match to the minute and 18 are one minute later here, never more. Both cut times down to the minute, so seconds can show as a minute.
Is Pushya Nakshatra good for buying gold?
No verse in my library says so. Supastro's finder rates Pushya ideal for its money settings, and among the Guru and Ravi Pushya days of 2027 only 29 August and 26 September keep money windows in New Delhi, about 9 am to noon.
Is Pushya Nakshatra good for marriage?
Not for the wedding. Supastro's engine bars Pushya for the ceremony and its marriage calendar never lists it. Uttara Kalamrita does allow Pushya for starting the preparations and for writing the invitations.
Do these times work outside New Delhi?
Pushya's start and end are single instants: convert the IST times to your zone. Sunrise moves with your city, so any edge set by sunrise, and the weekday itself, can shift.
